Today Dr. J -the gemologist at a local shop here- told me this is confirmed jadeite. We all tried to figure what the carving was and we believe it’s two cats fighting over a fish. Beautiful piece and she said these are thought to bring the wearer luck. I have included a close up of a crack on one of the jadeite beads in the necklace. I bet it’s an easy fix but didn’t wanna mess with it. The necklace is 16 inches long. The pendant itself is about 2 inches.
