For sale is a Rare Denomination $5 Hawaii 1934A Silver Certificate.

While the $1 Hawaii Notes are more common, the $5 denomination is exceedingly hard to find and scarce.

Printed for use in Hawaii after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII, this Series 1935A $5 Silver Certificate has black overprints of hawaii on the back.

In addition, this note was used to assure instant recognition (and devaluation) of the notes in case of enemy occupation, or of enemy capture of cash.

Guidebook Value: $950

Condition is poor, as is typical of rare notes. Price reduced by $250 to reflect condition.
